Five things you need to know before heading to class.

Classes start on the Monroe Park Campus on Tuesday, and there are a number of health and safety protocol changes to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Here are five things you need to know before heading to class.

Grab a mask.

Masks are now required to be worn by everyone indoors on campus, even if you are vaccinated. Also, masks are required at events being held outdoors if physical distancing of more than 6 feet is not possible or if the event has 50 or more people.

Have your Entry Pass ready.

Before entering a building or room, you might be required to show your daily Entry Pass. It can be loaded through VCU Mobile – CampusReady, or you can log in to entrypass.vcu.edu and print it out before going out for the day.

There should be a green check on Entry Pass each day if you have reported your COVID-19 vaccination to the university. If there is a red X, you most likely need to complete the Daily Health Check or a surveillance test.

Finding your way around.

Double check your course schedule in Navigate and get a map that will take you directly to your classroom. Also, the resources section can provide contact info for your adviser, financial counselor and faculty.

Take care of yourself.

There have been a lot of changes on top of everything students already must balance. VCU has a number of support services and resources available — both for academics and for your overall well-being. Many of the services are available in person as well as virtually. These sites can provide a quick directory:

Getting updates.

University decisions related to COVID-19 are communicated as quickly as possible and are published to https://together.vcu.edu/. If you have questions that haven’t been answered there, you can email together@vcu.edu.
